Establishment
The Department of Mathematics Education, which started accepting undergraduate students in 2012-2013, began its postgraduate education in 2017-2018 under the Faculty of Science. Our program aims to provide students who wish to develop themselves in the teaching profession or become researchers in the academic field with a scientific understanding, and to acquire professional knowledge, skills, and competencies.

Admission and Registration Requirements
1. Graduation from the Primary School Mathematics Teacher Training undergraduate program of the Department of Mathematics and Science Education of the Faculty of Education is required. 2. Applicants must possess an Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Examination (ALES) certificate demonstrating a minimum standard score of 55 in the relevant score type for the program they are applying to, provided that the application period does not exceed five years.
Eligibility Requirements and Rules
Students who have successfully completed at least 28 credits (equivalent to 120 ECTS) of courses available in the postgraduate programs of the program or related departments, achieved a weighted grade point average of at least 70 out of 100, and successfully defended their thesis in a relevant field before a selected jury, will be awarded a Master's degree in Mathematics Education within the Department of Mathematics and Science Education.
Program Profile
The aim of the Mathematics and Science Education Department, specifically the Mathematics Education Division, is to train expert individuals who possess the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and experience to conduct advanced research and education in Mathematics Education, who can think critically, have high self-confidence, and are capable of following innovations in their field on a national and international scale.
Exams, Assessment and Evaluation
To be eligible to register for courses and take the final exam at the beginning of the semester, each student must attend at least 70% of the theoretical lectures and at least 80% of the practical sessions. Students are subject to at least one midterm exam and a final exam for each course. The contribution of the midterm exam to the final grade is 50%, and the contribution of the final exam is also 50%. All exams are graded out of 100 points. A minimum score of 40 points on the final exam is required. Students who receive one of the letter grades AA, BA, BB, CB, and CC in a course are considered to have passed that course. DC and DD grades are considered conditionally passing. To pass a course with a DC or DD grade, a student must have a weighted grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.0.
Graduation Requirements
To successfully complete the program, students must pass all courses (equivalent to 120 ECTS credits) with a weighted grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 and successfully defend and receive acceptance for a master's thesis.

Department Facilities
In the Mathematics and Science Education Department, educational activities are conducted in technically equipped classrooms and computer laboratories. Our department has classrooms equipped with smart boards and computer laboratories. Our university's central library is quite rich in terms of periodicals and online databases. The Faculty of Education Library is actively used by our students.
