The “Rector-Student Meeting,” organized by the Giresun University Quality Society, was held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, in the Şehir Ömer Halisdemir Conference Hall with a large attendance. Rector Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Can, drawing attention to the decisive power of science and technology and the role of young people in the future of the country, emphasized that “countries that produce science and technology guide the world, therefore, raising well-educated and equipped young people is of great importance.” Information was provided about the academic and student exchange protocol signed with Samarkand State Pedagogical University in Uzbekistan as part of the university's internationalization strategy, and it was stated that work is continuing for new collaborations. Furthermore, the monumental entrance gate project to increase the visibility of the Güre Campus and the administrative and legal processes being carried out regarding the campus land were shared transparently. It was stated that the institution's future should be protected with the understanding that “The university belongs to Giresun, to its people.” In addition to Rector Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Can, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Güven Özdem and Prof. Dr. also attended the event. Rector's Chief Advisor Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şanal, Rector's Advisors Prof. Dr. Eren Baş and Assoc. Dr. Seda Nur Atasoy, and General Secretary Ahmet Tevfik Korkmaz were present; department heads and branch managers also participated, and students' questions were answered.
