On May 23, 2025, Turkish teacher Burcu ÖZKOÇAK EMRAL organized a talk titled "Being a Teacher Means Making a Difference" for prospective mathematics teachers at the Mevlana Conference Hall of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences as part of the "1st Mathematics Festival." In this talk, Teacher Burcu began by discussing the teaching profession and its importance. She then shared excerpts from her professional achievements, including hosting events, organizing folk music nights and poetry readings, holding science festivals, participating in voice acting, drama, and choir activities, organizing book promotions and reading competitions, being selected as Teacher of the Year in Artvin in 2013, attending the Conference on Good Practices in Education, applying to and winning awards for TÜBİTAK 2204 projects with her students, and winning awards in poetry and memoir competitions. This event motivated prospective mathematics teachers, particularly in building their careers in the best possible way, and demonstrated the activities they should undertake to make a difference in their profession. In addition, prospective teachers have had the opportunity to closely observe how a good teacher can improve themselves and have gained a better understanding of its importance.
