Mathematics Education Summit

The “Mathematics Education Summit” project, implemented by the Giresun University Innovative Educational Practices Community, with the participation of Amasya University's Mathematics and Discoverers Club and the Giresun National Education Directorate as stakeholders, and which was awarded funding under the 5th call for proposals of the UNIDES Program run by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, has been completed. As part of the project, a Mathematics Education Summit with the theme of “Innovative Educational Practices” was held at Giresun University on February 17-18, 2026. The summit featured six different sessions discussing the impact of digital transformation and innovative teaching approaches on mathematics education. Speakers included Trabzon University faculty members Prof. Dr. Adnan BAKİ and Prof. Dr. Bülent GÜVEN, Paris Embassy Education Counselor Prof. Dr. Selahattin ARSLAN, Dokuz Eylül University faculty member Prof. Dr. Esra BUKOVA GÜZEL, Hacettepe University faculty member Assoc. Dr. Bahadır YILDIZ, and Amasya University faculty member Dr. Lecturer Beyda TOPAN. In addition, five different workshops were held in schools affiliated with the Giresun Provincial Directorate of National Education, showcasing innovative mathematics teaching practices developed by mathematics teachers and students. With the participation of 154 education volunteers, including over 50 teachers, the dynamism of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the field experience of the Ministry of National Education, and the academic expertise of the University came together for the same goal.
