On Tuesday, December 23, 2025, the Mathematics Education Community organized a talk titled "Current Perspectives on Mathematics Education in Turkey" by Dr. Lecturer Türkan Berrin Köse, Assistant Professor, in Room A.1.3 of the Faculty of Education at Giresun University. In the talk, Dr. Lecturer Türkan Berrin Köse explained the evolution of mathematics education in Turkey from the past to the present. She highlighted the importance of technology-supported education, modeling, representations, drama, and 21st-century skills in mathematics education. She emphasized that current teaching approaches are being integrated into curricula in Turkey, along with relevant literature, and that skill-based learning and teaching are increasingly gaining prominence. The talk, which continued with questions from primary school mathematics teacher training students, concluded that teacher candidates can cultivate individuals who are motivated, motivated, and capable of mathematical thinking.
